A model who had been injected with pool cleaner and strangled has been found buried in concrete, police claim.
Suspicions were raised by Esmeralda Gonzalez's family after her Las Vegas home was found ransacked back in May.
The 24 year old, who has more than 300,000 Instagram , was found in a wooden box dumped in the Nevada desert.
Police have arrested her 45-year-old neighbour Christopher Prestipino for murder, kidnap and conspiracy to murder.
Officers believe he went to extreme lengths to hide Esmeralda's body after strangling her at his home, just 150m away from her house.
Court documents reveal prosecutors claim Esmeralda was held at Prestipino’s home for an “extended period of time” before her death.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Pamela Weckerly also identified another suspect - Cassandra Bascones, also known as Cassandra Garrett - who she believes participated in the killings, but has not yet been arrested.
“Prestipino rented a U-Haul, and the victim’s body was dumped in the desert,” the prosecutor said, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal .
"Prestipino and Garrett have been panicked because they left the rented U-Haul dolly at the body dump location.”
According to court documents, a witness told police: “Esmeralda was at Christopher’s house, and he ended up getting her high on methamphetamine.
"Christopher was not aware of Esmeralda’s mental problems, and she started acting bizarre."
The witness added that she was “left tied up to a bedpost for an extended period of time” and when she was untied Esmeralda punched him.
He is then said to have strangled her.
“He thought she was dead, but she woke up,” the witness said.
Prosecutors believe she was then poisoned with the pool cleaner.
After taking a week off work "to deal with the situation" he fled to Belize, but was arrested on his return to the US.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Prestipino's 31-year-old girlfriend, Lisa Mort, another alleged co-conspirator, faces a charge of harboring, concealing or aiding a felon.
