Model Irma Mali worried about being typecast after twice appearing on TV as a prostitute

Model Irma Mali has admitted she is worried she might get typecast after appearing as a prostitute in two of her biggest acting gigs to date.

The Lithuanian mum-of-two told how playing a racy role in Game Of Thrones in 2015 is paving the way for her dream job as an actor.

Irma, 36, landed a cameo role as a prostitute Elouise in the RTE series Taken Down and will next be seen in the upcoming Hollywood feature The Rhythm Section, starring Jude Law and Blake Lively, where she again plays a prostitute, Natalya.

Irma told the Irish Mirror: “I’m always cast in a certain part with my looks and my accent but I feel lucky to have been in the projects I’ve been in.

“In Taken Down I play a Romanian prostitute, to be on the set was brilliant, the people were incredible to work with.

“We worked for such a dark series, it’s just an acting job so you don’t feel like you are a prostitute.

“The girl I played was trafficked even on the set I was looking around thinking if that was real there’s no way I could escape.”

Irma revealed she bonded with Hollywood star Blake Lively on the Rhythm Section set and helped the star perfect her Russian accent.

She said: “I was working with Blake on location in Dublin, she was really friendly, I was helping her with Russian, we bonded.”

The stunner, who came to fame dating The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue for four years before parting ways in 2013, said she isn’t fazed by A-listers.

Taken Down star Aaron Edo says he plans to be the next Barry Keoghan

She added: “I’m never intimidated by famous people because I don’t know who they are, I never see people differently.

“I don’t care if you’re a Hollywood star, everyone is the same to me.”

Irma has now set her sights on moving away from the prostitute typecast and has been honing her craft in Paris and London.

She explained: “It would be nice to break away from this but then again you have to put work in yourself, you can’t just expect things to happen, I have to improve my range of accents.

“I went to Paris and London to train with Jack Waltzer, who’s trained everyone from Sigourney Weaver to Dustin Hoffman.”

The beauty, who’s been living in Dublin for 17 years, said she’s aware she can’t model forever.

She added: “I’m in my 30s now, so it’s probably time for me to move on from the modelling world.”
