Moda Living unveils new images of 39-storey Birmingham apartment block

New images have been unveiled of a major project in Birmingham city centre which could see 720 apartments built on a run-down car park known as the bomb site.

Last week, residential property developer and operator Moda Living announced it had struck a deal with Birmingham City Council to build apartments to rent on the authority's Ludgate Hill Car Park in the Jewellery Quarter.

It has now released new images (above and below) and more details about the 2.6-acre project which will see a series of blocks developed, including one that could reach up to 39 storeys at the corner of Livery Street and Great Charles Street Queensway.

Other facilities include a gym, roof terraces, communal lounges, workspaces and 29,350 sq ft of public realm and landscaping including a new plaza around Snow Hill station.

There would also be new shops and commercial space fronting onto Lionel Street.

If given council backing, the project would be called Great Charles Square and add to the city's growing portfolio of tall towers including Moda Living's 42-storey The Mercian in Broad Street.

The project has been designed by Ryder Architecture and Apache Capital Partners is the funding partner for both of Moda Living's projects in Birmingham.

An information session is being held today from 4pm to 8pm at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Square, Birmingham
