Mock draft watch: Lions land premium CB in Draft Wire’s latest

It’s hard to believe we’re in Week 6 of the college football season, but the season will be half-over for many of the prospects for the 2020 NFL Draft by the end of the weekend. In honor of that milestone, our brother site Draft Wire produced its latest 2020 mock draft.

In the new update, the Detroit Lions are picking at No. 15 overall. In that spot in the middle of the first, editor Luke Easterling chose LSU standout CB Kristian Fulton as the Lions first-round choice. It’s an interesting selection given how well the Lions secondary is playing, but does acknowledge Fulton’s ability to impact the defense,

Darius Slay is one of the best shutdown corners in the entire NFL, but the No. 2 corner spot needs an upgrade in Detroit. Fulton is a big, physical cover man who could be a No. 1 corner for many teams, but would benefit even more from playing across from a talented teammate.

This mock only player out one round, and six QBs came off the board in the first 32 picks.
