Mock draft watch: Lions add much-needed speed in Draft Wire’s latest

The latest mock draft from our friends at Draft Wire adds some much-needed speed to the Detroit Lions offense at a position that could be undergoing a major overhaul next offseason.

Picking at No. 9 overall, based on the current 2021 NFL draft order after Week 4, the Lions take Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. He’s a tremendous prospect with a game built around world-class speed. Check out his handiwork from last Saturday’s win over Texas A&M,

The Lions could have dire need at wide receiver after the 2020 season. THe team’s top three wide receivers, Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola, are all scheduled to be free agents. Even if Golladay returns, adding a dynamic playmaker like Waddle would be a great way to keep the Lions offense potent.
