Mock draft watch: Draft Wire’s 4-rounder loads up Browns defense

If you’re a Browns fan who wants the draft focus to be on the defensive side of the ball, the latest 4-round mock draft from Draft Wire is probably going to make you happy. All three of the Browns projections over the first four rounds are on defense.

With the Browns first pick, now at No. 49 overall in the second round after trading the first-rounder to the Giants, Amani Oruwariye from Penn State gets the nod. The big cornerback (6-2/205 at the combine) offers a great balance to Denzel Ward on the other side of the formation.

Next up is Virginia safety Juan Thornhill in the third. He’s a former cornerback and actually comes in smaller than Oruwariye, but Thornhill plays downhill nicely and offers range and ball skills with incredible leaping ability at safety.

In the fourth round, West Virginia linebacker David Long Jr. heads to Cleveland. Not to be confused with the Michigan CB of the same name, Long plays with passion and energy that makes a lot of plays but also takes him out of position. He has the makings of a special teams captain.
