Mock draft watch: breaking down Draft Wire’s latest 4-round haul for the Browns

The latest mock draft from brother site Draft Wire is out, and this edition extends out four rounds. This version also includes some trades, a new variable to the mock draft equation.

The Browns aren’t part of any projected trades, however. Cleveland stands pat with five selections in the first four rounds.

At No. 17 overall, editor Luke Easterling projects Michigan DL Rashan Gary to the Browns. His belief that Gary can bulk up and play more inside, something Michigan eschewed, makes sense if Gary can buy in. He’s got incredible quickness and power.

In the second round, giant Iowa State wideout Hakeem Butler heads to Cleveland. If he can continue to get away with offensive pass interference, the 6-6 Butler makes for a great red zone target for Baker Mayfield.

The two third-round picks add SEC defenders to the Browns mix. First up is Kentucky CB Derrick Baity, followed by Florida LB Vosean Joseph. In the fourth round comes Utah safety Marquise Blair.

Interestingly, there is no offensive line help even with some viable tackle candidates on the board for every projection.
