Developers behind a controversial Glenkens windfarm want to build taller turbines.
Mochrum Fell Wind Farm was given approval by the Scottish Government in 2016 — despite councillors rejecting the plans after more than 600 people objected.
The move meant Falck Renewables had permission to build eight turbines at 126.5m tall at the site near Parton.
However, they now want to amend the scheme to build seven, 150m tall turbines and are putting their revised proposals on public display over the next few days.
The firm’s business development project manager, Matt Olley, said: “Wind turbine technology has moved on since Mochrum Fell was granted consent
and these updated proposals would make the wind farm more effective and efficient.
“However, before we seek permission to amend the existing scheme, we want to provide local people with information about the proposals. We hope as many as possible will attend the drop-in sessions and speak with the project team.”
