The Scottish Ambulance Service is helping to bring a drop-in mobile vaccination unit to rural areas of Lanarkshire.
The mobile vaccination bus will help to deliver the covid-19 booster and flu vaccinations as well as first and second doses of the covid-19 vaccine for anyone who still needs to be vaccinated.
It will be at the following sites from 9am to 4.30pm on:
· Tuesday, October 5 – Hopetoun Arms Hotel, 37 Main St, Leadhills, ML12 6XP
· Wednesday, October 6 - Kirkmuirhall Gospel Hall, 60 Vere Road, Kirkmuirhill, ML11 9RP
· Thursday, October 7 - St Brides Centre, Braehead, Douglas, ML11 0PT
· Friday, October 8 – Allanton Church, Allanton, ML7 5AL
The health board's vaccination lead, Dr Mark Russell, told Lanarkshire Live : "The mobile vaccination unit will help us to reach parts of the community who may have struggled to get to one of our vaccination centres.
"You don’t need an appointment, you can just drop-in as long as you are eligible. For those requiring a COVID-19 booster it needs to be at least six months since your second dose."
First doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are available to everyone over the age of 12 and second doses are available to anyone over the age of 18 who has waited at least eight weeks since their first dose.
Appointments for COVID-19 booster and flu vaccinations have started to be issued to those aged over 70 and those aged over 16 who were previously shielding. These appointments will take place in our ten vaccination centres across Lanarkshire.
