A trailer-like mobile toilet that can be towed by a car and is wheelchair accessible was unveiled at an event in Yokohama on Saturday.

The unit, jointly developed by Toyota Motor Corp. and housing fixtures giant Lixil Corp., is being targeted for use at fairs, sporting events and other large gatherings to enable wheelchair users to go out with ease of mind.

The unit is 5.3 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 2.9 meters high, and there is a gentle slope for easy access. It is equipped with a flush toilet for wheelchair users, a hand washing basin and air conditioning, and includes a waiting room for caregivers.
