The next auction of the 1800-megahertz spectrum licences will not happen for at least eight months until all of the preliminary processes have been wrapped up, the NBTC says.
NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tantasith said the NBTC plans to amend the existing conditions related to this spectrum for the next auction to make the bid more attractive.
The news comes after a major hiccup in signal auctioning. All three mobile operators reportedly opted out of the August bid yesterday, forcing the Aug 4 plan to be cancelled.
The reserve price will be based on a similar auction in 2015. It can't be reduced in the interests of fair competition, he said.
