Mobile coronavirus testing units to visit Rochdale and Littleborough this week

Mobile coronavirus testing units will be visiting Rochdale and Littleborough later this week.

The temporary facilities will be in the town centre at Arif Grocers, on Ramsay Street, and Kent Street car park.

Testing is available between Friday and Sunday between 10.30am and 3.30pm. People can either turn up or book the day before.

There will also be a unit at Littleborough Community Primary School from Wednesday until Saturday, between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Tests must be booked in advance.

Testing is available for everyone - not just people who have symptoms - and residents are being urged to take advantage of the mobile units while they are in the borough.

Councillor Sara Rowbotham, cabinet member for health and wellbeing at Rochdale council, said: “These mobile testing units provide a convenient opportunity for people in Rochdale town centre and Littleborough to get tested locally.

“We need more people to get tested and we encourage people who live near these sites to get tested even if they don’t have symptoms.”

Appointment slots before 11.30am can be booked from 5pm the day before, while those after 11.30 can booked from 9am on the same day.

To book a test ring 119 or visit nhs.uk/coronavirus to book your test.
