A mobile car valeting firm is offering a reward after a generator was stolen from the back of their Transit van at the weekend.
Thieves have targeted works vans across the town in recent months and Mobile Car Spa EK owner, David Torlay, told Lanarkshire Live the latest theft has been reported to police.
It is a tough blow for the firm which only began trading in June with David and one other worker covering large parts of Central Scotland.
And he now believes three men were seen with the green generator in The Murray Square yesterday morning.
The van was parked and locked up on Saturday night in Tummel Green in East Mains - David believes thieves struck around 5am on Sunday morning. Nothing else was taken from the van.
He is offering £50 for information and £100 for info that leads to an address.
A post on Facebook reads: "Can you please keep an eye out for this generator.
"Our van was broken into in East Mains (Tummel Green) and the generator was stolen by some scumbag.
"Other vans were also broken into at the same time. All Ford Transits. No other makes were touched. CCTV is being checked just now.
"The generator is green and has a broken plug socket. It's only four months old so is still clean and shiny.
"It is not an expensive item as such, but it is needed for us to do our work and as a new company we don't just have unlimited funds laying around to buy another right away.
"We have received information which suggests three guys were seen with a green generator matching our description about 8am yesterday at The Murray Square. Three guys just sitting in the street with it."
Police were contacted for comment.
