Mo Salah takes swipe at critics over Man City rival Sergio Aguero goal comparison

Liverpool winger Mo Salah has taken a swipe at critics over claims he is having a bad season.

Egyptian Salah has grabbed 17 goals in the Premier League this campaign but has been slammed for not reaching the same levels as last year - where he scored an incredible 32 times to take the Golden Boot.

On the other hand, there has been high praise for Manchester City front man Sergio Aguero for his 19 goals this season.

Argentine Aguero is the Premier League's leading scorer - and is on course to better the 26 goals he netted in the 2014-15 season.

Salah, who is on an eight game scoring drought, pointed out the hypocrisy after Liverpool had overtaken City at the top of the table with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham .

Jurgen Klopp praises Liverpool's desire as he reacts to late win over Tottenham

Salah said on Sky Sports: “I don’t care so much (if the goal is mine of not). As long as we get the three points that is the main thing.

“A goal is not very important, if they give it to me or not I don’t care.

“I haven’t scored for a couple of games, yes, but there are some players who have the same amount of goals as me but they are saying they are having the best season of their lives.

“There are three or four players that no one is talking about or just saying they are having a good season while I am the only one who is having a bad season.

“Aguero has two goals over me and they say it is one of the best seasons so far.

“I don’t care. I just want to win the Premier League.

Despite the goal not being given to him, Salah forced it by heading at Hugo Lloris - before Toby Alderweireld stabbed into his own goal.

The 90th minute goal came after Roberto Firmino and Lucas Moura had cancelled each other out.
