Mo Salah's blunt retort when asked which Real Madrid players he would have at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah responded with fighting talk when quizzed on which Real Madrid players he would take at Liverpool.

The Champions League quarter-final between the two European giants is fast approaching and Salah is desparate to put the memory of his last clash with Los Blancos behind him.

The Egyptian forward was forced off with a shoulder injury with half an hour played as Liverpool succumbed to a 3-1 defeat in the 2018 final.

The first leg next Tuesday marks the first time the two sides have squared off since their Kiev showdown - and Salah has no doubt the Reds will progress to the semi-finals.

The 28-year-old is so confident in his side's quality he believes there is no Real Madrid player which could improve Liverpool.

When asked which of Zinedine Zidane's men he would bring to Anfield, Salah told Spanish outlet Marca : "I think our team is good enough as it is."

Nonetheless, the former Chelsea and Roma star acknowledged Real Madrid possess countless "top players".

Asked to name a Los Blancos player he admires, Salah added: "[Eden] Hazard, I have a great relationship with him, he did very well at Chelsea, but now he's not having any luck [with injuries].

"Luka [Modric], I also have a very good relationship, we have met sometimes. I can't choose one because they are top players and a top club."

Salah also hailed Zidane, who has led Real Madrid to two La Liga titles and an astonishing three Champions League triumphs during two relatively brief spells as manager.

"He is a great coach, he has won three Champions Leagues, he is doing very well with the team," said the Liverpool star of Zidane.

"He left and came back to help the team win titles again. He was one of my idols when I was little. As a coach he is doing great."
