Mo Salah posts adorable snap of daughter after missing Confederation of African Football awards

Mohamed Salah posted an adorable snap of his young daughter after missing the Confederation of African Football awards.

Liverpool winger  Sadio Mane was crowned African Player of the Year last night , beating teammate Salah, who had won the previous two editions of the award.

Mane attended a ceremony in Cairo on Tuesday to collect the award, winning over Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez as well as his Egyptian teammate.

If Salah had won, he would have become the third player in history to win the award three times.

However, the Egyptian winger opted to stay in Merseyside and train with Liverpool ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Suggestions that this was due to his ongoing conflict with the Egyptian FA were dismissed, according to Reuters.

During the ceremony, Salah posted updates on his Instagram story including one which congratulated Mane on his success.

Posting a picture of Mane on stage with his prize, Salah wrote 'Congrats bro' and an emoji of raised arms.

He then posted an adorable photo of his daughter Makka in her dressing gown pretending to present an award.

In the caption, he wrote: "And the award for the best federation goes to...."
