Former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah has issued a rallying cry in the direction of Liverpool's supporters following the Reds' 3-1 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime.
Following last weekend's 4-1 home defeat to Manchester City, all but signalling the end of the Reds' hopes of retaining their Premier League title crown, Liverpool looked on course to get back to winning ways at the King Power Stadium after Salah netted a 67th-minute opener.
However, Jurgen Klopp's side were the architects of their own downfall, conceding three times in the space of just seven minutes, as goals from James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes inflicted a third Premier League defeat row on the reigning title holders.
Now, Liverpool look as though they will face a stern battle just to finish inside the top four, with both Chelsea and West Ham United aware that they could leapfrog them in the table with wins over Newcastle United and Sheffield United, respectively, on Monday evening.
Despite their recent woes, Salah has admitted that the Reds are not willing to give up on their season, insisting he and his team-mates will "fight like champions" until the season reaches its conclusion.
"It's been a tough period for many reasons," said Salah. "We are champions and will fight like champions, until the very end.
"We will not allow this season to be defined by the recent results we've had. That is my promise to all of you."
With the Egyptian adamant that Liverpool will fight until the very end, it will act as a warning for Chelsea in their aspirations of finishing above the Reds this season.
While Liverpool have stumbled in recent weeks, Chelsea have found form, winning three of their last four Premier League outings since Thomas Tuchel succeeded Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
A win for the Blues against Newcastle tomorrow will see them leapfrog Klopp's side in the table and move two points ahead of them.
