Mohamed Salah fastest Liverpool player to 100 goal involvements after Brighton brace

Mo Salah became part of an exclusive Liverpool club when he notched a brace in the Reds 3-1 win at Brighton.

The Egyptian now has 100 goal involvements, joining Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen in doing so.

Salah was the quickest player to reach the milestone given his blistering goalscoring record since arriving in the Premier League .

It has taken him just 104 appearance to register the total with 73 goals and 27 assists coming in that time.

Salah top scored in his first season before sharing the Golden Boot last term with Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And speaking after the win against the Seagulls he admits he is surprised by his amount of assists.

"I don't know why but I think I have a good [assists] number since I came here," he told Sky Sports.

"In my position, I think I'm doing well."

Salah's milestone came as Liverpool edged closer to a record of their own.

The Reds are looking to beat Manchester City's point total of 100 which was set two years ago.

But despite their comprehensive win and Salah's memorable night, former Red Graeme Souness labelled the 28-year-old as selfish.

"He was at it tonight from the first minute," he said. "I think it [the Golden Boot] is important to him.

"You’ve seen his reaction when people weren’t finding him late on in the game in the last third.

"He was shooting at every opportunity, and his teammates will not have been happy with him on two or three occasions.

"But he’s always selfish. I think tonight he was super selfish. He really wants his Golden Boot."
