Salah did not get on the score sheet, but he did lay on an assist as Jurgen Klopp’s side thrashed Saints at Anfield.
Diogo Jota scored twice from low crosses to put the hosts 2-0 ahead after 32 minutes before Thiago’s deflected shot made the game safe before half-time.
Virgil van Dijk volleyed in from a corner after the break to secure the points as Liverpool coasted to victory.
Their win inspired one fan to run onto the pitch when the final whistle blew, with Salah the focus of his attention.
The bobble-hatted supporter made it over to the Egyptian with his phone in-hand as he appeared to be trying to get a photo.
He was dragged away by security pretty quickly before he could get to Salah, who looked fairly relaxed by the encounter.
It is certainly nothing new for Salah, who is used to the adulation, particularly when on international duty with Egypt.
Salah was the target for three separate pitch invaders during Egypt’s World Cup qualifier against Angola earlier this month.
Despite not getting on the score sheet, Salah was one of the stars of the show at Anfield on Saturday.
He laid on Jota’s second goal with a clever cross and terrorised the Southampton defence throughout the game.

His assist means he has now gone just one game in the Premier League this season without either scoring or assisting a goal.
The 29-year-old has 11 goals and eight assists in just 13 league appearances this season and is helping sustain Liverpool’s title challenge.
Saturday’s win moved Liverpool up to second, one point behind leaders Chelsea, ahead of their match against Manchester United on Sunday.
