Mo Farah races at school sports day... and takes silver!

Mo Farah was beaten in the school sports day race

A man has earned bragging rights for life after beating four-time Olympic gold winner Sir Mo Farah in the parents’ race at a school sports day.

Sir Mo and his wife Tania were at the school fields in south-west London to cheer on their three-year-old son Hussein.

But when the marathon star agreed to take part in the 60 metre parents’ race, he was beaten by another competitor — believed to be a teacher at the school.

In a video posted to Instagram by his wife, he is seen trailing the winner by several strides.

He finished in second place, just ahead of a catering boss.

A source said: “Mo likes to get involved — and luckily holds back so he doesn’t make us look bad.”

Parents and children lined the track as the parents battled it out in the sprint, with Lady Farah filming her husband’s defeat.

The video has amassed more than 15,000 views.

One supporter said: “The story of the bloke who beat Mo will be told to everyone he meets.”

Luckily Hussein and Lady Farah restored some family pride by appearing to win their races.

Former Olympic triple jumper Michelle Griffith-Robinson, a friend of the couple, told her: “You should’ve given the others a head start.”

It is the second time Sir Mo has taken to the field for the annual parents’ race at the school, which educates children aged from three to 18.

Last year, he admitting finishing third in the same race during an appearance on A League Of Their Own.

He told James Corden: “I turned up thinking I was going to win and got my ass kicked.

“Not just third, but the geezer [who won] was wearing jeans and still kicked my butt.”
