UFC on ESPN+ 14 might not have been anywhere close to the biggest event of the year, but it did have a significant impact on the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings.
In the main event, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko made it look easy – if not entertaining – as she defeated Liz Carmouche with a clean-sweep unanimous decision to retain her title. In the co-headliner, Vicente Luque took home a hard-fought win over the biggest name of his career, earning a split decision from a gutsy Mike Perry.
Elsewhere on the card, Volkan Oezdemir earned a much-needed win over Ilir Latifi, while Marina Rodriguez impressed with a victory over Tecia Torres.
