A Kazakhstani MMA fighter has been hospitalised after being shot in the chest the day before his fight at an event in Moscow.
Bagdat Dyusembaev, a middleweight fighter for Russian promotion Hardcore Fighting Championships, was reportedly shot after getting into an argument with a security guard.
'Kazakh' was supposed to compete in the co-main event of Hardcore Fighting Championships 22 on Thursday evening.
But a report from Russian news outlet Tass explained that Dyusembaev was shot after getting into an altercation at an MMA gym in Moscow.
"The day before, along Ordzhonikidze Street, house 10a, during a conflict with a security guard of a fitness club, MMA fighter Bagdat Dyusembaev received a gunshot wound in the chest," the report read.

"The victim was hospitalised in the N. I. Pirogov City Clinical Hospital."
Dyusembaev was looking for his first win in MMA against Mikhail Avakyan in his upcoming fight, but the fighter now faces a much bigger battle after being shot.
He has formerly competed for the Body Mania promotion and Top Dog Fighting Championships, a backyard bare-knuckle boxing promotion.
Dyusembaev claims to be a former Body Mania champion, but his 0-2 professional record suggests otherwise.
His first loss came by corner stoppage against Yaroslav Kuk, before returning to the cage two minutes later and losing a decision to Danila Volkov.
Hardcore FC has not released a statement or a comment about Dyusembaev's reported hospitalisation for his gunshot wound.
It's unknown if Dyusembaev's scheduled opponent Avakyan, who is undefeated in two professional fights, will still compete at Hardcore FC 22.
The main event features another middleweight clash as Islam Zhangorazov faces 44-fight veteran Vyacheslav Vasilevskiy.
