MMA fighter has finger torn off in gruesome accident whilst working on a farm

One attribute that often helps when you're a cage fighter is being hard as nails.

And in Zoran Djodj's case, his latest mishap has certainly proved he can handle his fair share of pain.

For the Croatian MMA fighter has recently suffered the unfortunate and gruesome injury of having his little finger torn off whilst working on a farm.

He was reportedly harvesting corn in a field when he went to turn off the machine, and his hand was pulled into the harvester.

The little finger on his right hand was crushed by the machine - but rather than head straight to hospital, he bandaged it up and made sure he finished the job at hand first.

Djodj - who hails from a village called Ferdinandovac in the Koprivnica-Krizevci County of Croatia - was then told at the hospital that his finger could not be sewn back on.

Instead he was stitched up and moved on, with one less finger, but is adamant it would not put a stop to his upcoming fight.

Undeterred, Djodj said: "It's not some injury that should stop me from fighting now. I didn't even think about postponing the next fight.

Doctors couldn't save his finger and had to sew him up (Golders/Zoran Djodj)

"I’m used to so much more pain in MMA fights which hurts much more than right now when the machine severed my finger.”

Djodj's MMA record stands at 11 wins, 13 losses and one draw in his 25 bouts, and is scheduled to fight on October 19 in Serbia.

His opponent? Austrian-based Tarhan Ibragimov - whose nickname is 'The Hulk'.

Rather you than me, Zoran.
