Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s death has been met by tributes from the MMA community, as a host of prominent figures from the sport posted messages of condolence to social media following the news.
Nurmagomedov died after a battle with complications resulting from COVID-19. He was 57 years old. The father of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurgmagomedov, Abdulmanap was his son’s head coach. He was a staple of Khabib’s corner for much of his career and coached numerous other MMA notables as well.
