MMA commentator drops Game of Thrones reference after brutal knockout

Ex-UFC star Sage Northcutt’s career in Singapore’s ONE Championship got off to a rocky start on Friday, as he was knocked out by kickboxer Cosmo Alexandre just 29 seconds into the first round in the ONE Championship 96 main event.

Alexandre dropped Northcutt with a vicious right hook, inspiring the commentator to compare the beatdown to a recent Game of Thrones moment.

“Cosmo Alexandre came out all guns blazing. It was like Daenerys Targaryen at King’s Landing. He laid waste to Sage Northcutt.”  

Fortunately for Northcutt, now 11-3, he will fight another day – but this was the worst-possible result for the 23-year-old.
