Relentless rain in Morrisville over the last couple of days forced a second washout on back-to-back days as the game between Los Angeles Knight Riders and San Francisco Unicorns was abandoned without a ball being delivered.
The outfield of the Church Street Park stadium has taken a lot of pounding, which forced the umpires to call off the game well in advance without even the toss.
The Knight Riders and Unicorns thus received one point each. Both the teams are now at three points on the leaderboard, with the Knight Riders a spot ahead of the Unicorns according to the net run-rate at the fourth position but have played a match more.
Two matches are scheduled for Sunday, and the Knight Riders will hope that the weather in Morrisville clears up to allow their match against Washington Freedom.
The second match on Sunday will be played at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas between the Texas Super Kings and MI New York.
