On the heels of announcing its 7th Inning XP program, MLB The Show 25 has dropped what I would consider among its best content this year. In total, six cards — all of whom can be considered “meta” — were dropped today as part of the new World Series and Multiplayer Programs. And that’s not even including the Double Agent cards that also dropped.
Here’s a look at all of the rewards as we move deeper into the 7th Inning of MLB The Show 25 content.
New World Series Rewards
Awards Series Fernando Tatis Jr.
First up is Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres. Here are Tatis’ attributes:

As expected, Tatis has plenty of pop, boasting max power against righties and 110 against lefties. 80 Vision might be a pain on higher difficulties, but he’s overall pretty great. My only real complain is that he’s a shortstop with no secondary positions.
Oscar Charleston
Known for being one of the most prolific hitters in Negro Leagues history, Oscar Charleston has a 99 OVR card available as a World Series reward as well. Here are his attributes:

Like Tatis, Charleston is pretty much a 5-tool player and does it all — hit for contact, hit for power, run the bases, and play great defense. What makes him a more enticing choice than Tatis is the fact that Charleston can play first virtually anywhere in the outfield and first base, allowing you to theoretically have a complete 5-tool team from top to bottom.
Multiplayer Program Rewards
Along with two new World Series rewards, MLB The Show 25 has refreshed its Multiplayer Program and released four new cards that players can earn simply from playing the game online. These cards include Signature Series Jim Kaat (SP), Milestone Series Kris Bryant (3B), Finest Series Jason Kipnis (2B), and Hall of Fame Series Josh Gibson (C).
Honestly, all four cards are good. But the standout is, predictably, Josh Gibson. The Negro Leagues legend is one of the best hitters in the game, and can play virtually anywhere in the field other than shortstop.
