MLB The Show 25 is Adding a... Racetrack?

There are plenty of wacky stadiums in MLB The Show 25 that you can play in. There’s one that looks like it’s on a fairground, another that looks like it was built in front of the Capitol Building, and another that is thousands of feet in elevation and looks about the size of a postage stamp. But San Diego Studio is outdoing itself by adding another park. And this one is unlike any other.

Before we get more in detail about that, some context is needed. On August 2, the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds will compete in the first-ever MLB Speedway Classic, which will emanate from the famed Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. Any fans of NASCAR will be very familiar with Bristol Motor Speedway, one of the more exciting short ovals in the country. And to commemorate the occasion, MLB The Show 25 will be adding the Bristol stadium to the game on July 29

Bristol Motor Speedway Makes Its MLB The Show 25 Debut

San Diego Studio announced on July 23 that the Speedway Classic would be coming to MLB The Show 25. And honestly, I’m stoked for it! I love stadiums that are a bit different. In fact, I’ve been skirting some of the more tried and true stadiums in favor of Oak Street recently in Diamond Dynasty, and it truly makes for a fun and varied experience. And it certainly beats playing at Coors Field every game.

Now, assuming the Bristol Motor Speedway baseball stadium is made available in Diamond Dynasty, I expect many players in Ranked and Weekend Classic to give it a try due to its novelty. That said, how it plays will ultimately decide how long we as players will be seeing it on regular basis.

As mentioned before, most Diamond Dynasty players currently play at Coors Field due to its high elevation and because decent swings (or even mediocre swings) are often rewarded with home runs there. Well, that, and because Shield Woods and Laughing Mountain both got nerfed in terms of elevation this year.

At a glance, Bristol Motor Speedway could play for most in Diamond Dynasty. Bristol, Tennessee sits at about 1600 feet above sea level, meaning there is some elevation there. The dimensions of the Speedway Classic are also pretty standard, with the distance directly down either foul line being 330 feet, 400 in dead center, 375 in right-center, and 384 in left-center.

So, on paper, things bode well for the stadium. The game also has some real sluggers at this point, so that could work as well.
