MLB's Latino of the Night: Juan Soto goes perfect in Yankees' comeback win

SEATTLE - It took the New York Yankees offense until the ninth inning to get things going against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 17. Losing by two runs and down to their final three outs, a homer by Giancarlo Stanton reignited things for the Yankees, scoring four runs in the ninth inning to complete the comeback and leave Toronto with a 6-4 victory.

After Stanton's homer, it was turn for Aaron Judge to complete the rally with a two-run single to avoid the sweep against the Blue Jays. But even though Stanton and Judge had the big plays of the night, Juan Soto was yet again the most consistent batter in New York's rotation.

The Dominican finished the night with a perfect 3-for-3 at bat. He was responsible for a run-scoring double, reached base in all five plate appearances and added a solo-run home run in the eight inning that preceded the Yankees' huge comeback in the ninth.

With his homer, Soto reached 500 career RBI. The Dominican got the round number fast, needing just 758 games. According to baseball guru Sarah Langs, Soto is now part of a very select group of players to debut in the last 50 seasons and reach 500 RBI at 25 years of age or younger.

Nineteen games into the season, Soto continues to be in terrific form in his first season with the Bronx Bombers. The Dominican has contributed with 12 runs, 25 hits four homers and 17 RBI so far this campaign and only Bobby Abreu (44) has reached base safely more times in his first 19 games with the Yankees than Soto (43).
