MLB needs to suspend these two awful umps from Tuesday’s Blue Jays-Yankees game

If you’ve been paying attention at all to the MLB season thus far then you know the umpires have been really, really bad.

Last night in the Bronx it got even worse and now it’s time for Rob Manfred or somebody within the game with any kind of power to send a message to these umps and start leveling some punishments because some of these guys in blue are embarrassing the game.

What happened in last night’s Blue Jays-Yankees game was ridiculous. The umps, led by crew chief Alfonso Marquez, decided to eject Toronto reliever Yimi Garcia after he hit Josh Donaldson on an 0-1 pitch in a tie game in the sixth inning. During that ejection, Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker got tossed, too.

Check out this embarrassing scene:

Marquez said after the game that they decided to eject Garcia because they thought it was in retaliation to Donaldson and Blue Jays catcher Tyler Heineman having words in the fifth inning. For real.

But things got worse and even more embarrassing after that. Home plate ump Lance Barrett later ejected Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo and appeared to yell, “Boom, got ya!” while doing it:

Here’s the complete scene:

These umps, man. They’re not supposed to act like children but they have been doing so more often and the need to start facing some consequences for doing so.

These umps – the crew chief and the home plate ump – need to be punished because they ruined last night’s game and will continue ruining games if nobody does anything.
