MLB fans are rightfully pumped that the dumb extra-innings runner rule is done for good

Baseball is back. No, really. It’s back. I swear.

The owners and players finally reached an agreement on Thursday afternoon that ended the 99-day lockout and kickstarted the 2022 season, which is going to start in a hurry after all these days of baseball not being a thing.

While we get ready for free agency (which starts tonight), spring training, and then Opening Day, there is something very important for us to pay attention to – you remember that lame extra-innings rule that had both teams automatically starting each extra inning with a guy on second base? Yeah, that isn’t coming back.

Rejoice!

So long seven-inning doubleheaders, too.

MLB fans loved it.
