MLB broadcasters across the league blast Orioles’ announcer suspension during Monday games

Broadcasters across Major League Baseball are taking shots at the Baltimore Orioles after the suspension of MASN announcer Kevin Brown.

On Monday, a report from Awful Announcing revealed that Brown — a reporter for the Orioles’ main broadcaster MASN — was apparently suspended indefinitely for factually reporting the team’s poor road record against the Tampa Bay Rays. Headed into late July, the Orioles had previously lost 15 straight road series to the Rays. The Orioles snapped that streak by taking three out of four games in their most recent series.

However, despite Brown reporting the facts — with the statistic in the team’s game notes and accompanied by a graphic the broadcasting team made — he was reportedly suspended indefinitely. MLB fans were furious at the news and not long after, broadcasters began to voice their frustrations with the Orioles and team CEO John Angelos.

Here is a running list of all the MLB announcers who blasted the Orioles’ decision to suspend Brown during Monday night’s slate of games.

Gary Cohen (New York Mets)

Jason Benetti (Chicago White Sox)

Michael Kay (New York Yankees)
