The body of a missing US student has been found in a woodland next to an apartment building, police have said.
Teenager Miya Marcano disappeared last Friday before the discovery on Saturday morning near the Tymber Skan complex in Orlando, Florida.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina told a press conference today the 19-year-old's remains were found at around 10.45am local time.
He said a purse with Miya's identification was also found nearby while investigators are examining two mobile phones and a set of keys.
The sheriff said: "Our hearts are broken. Hundreds of Orange County Sheriff's Office personnel were committed to this case and working very hard. Everyone wanted this outcome to be different.

"As a community, as a father, we are grieving the loss of Miya.
"We can't imagine the pain of Miya's family, loved ones, friends and really our entire community has gone through."
The body was found less than 20 miles from her own Arden Villas apartment building, where she also worked in the leasing office.
Detectives found signs of a struggle there and bloodstains on a pillow.

Arden Villas maintenance worker Armando Caballero, suspected of abducting Miya, was found dead in his apartment in neighbouring Seminole County on Thursday (September 30).
Sheriff Mina confirmed the 27-year-old is the only suspect in the case.
He said phone records put him at the Tymber Skan apartments, where he and his family previously lived, for around 20 minutes between 8pm and 9pm on the same day Miya disappeared.

The sheriff added that he and his colleagues have spoken to the student's devastated family.
"Our heart goes out to them," he said.
Miya was last seen alive at around 5pm on September 24 at the Arden Villas apartments on Arden Villas Boulevard.
A cause of death will be determined after an autopsy is completed.
Miya, of Valencia College, was scheduled to fly to Fort Lauderdale the night she went missing, but never arrived at the airport.
Her family had come across Cabellero at the building when they were searching for her last Saturday.
Miya's aunt Semone Westmaas told The Sun : "He was trying to leave. His lights were off. He said, 'Are you looking for Miya?' I said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I’m the maintenance guy. I heard you’re looking for me.'"
Her cousin Calli Sue said he appeared "quite nervous" when asked if he'd had any contact with her.
Sheriff Mina said during Saturday's press conference that this was Caballero's way of throwing searchers off the trail.
Caili also told WPLG Channel 10 : "He was infatuated with her, he was in love with her.
“I don’t know the very specifics, but he was constantly texting her.”
