Mixed injury news as winger discusses Nottingham Forest transfer links

Nottingham Forest hope to have defender Scott McKenna available for the weekend’s trip to Reading.

But they face being without Jack Colback for a number of weeks, after an ankle injury in Sunday’s defeat to Swansea City left the midfielder on crutches.

McKenna missed Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw at home to Watford, being replaced by Joe Worrall, who made his own return from a spell on the sidelines due to a broken foot.

“Scott’s (injury is) not so much a problem, but Jack’s is,” said boss Chris Hughton.

Transfer talk

Winger Kamil Grosicki says he remains in contact with Nottingham Forest, following their attempt to sign him in the summer.

A dispute about whether paperwork was submitted in time led to arbitration hearing ruling against the club.

Boss Chris Hughton has been coy about whether Forest will go back in for Grosicki again when the transfer window reopens.

Asked about the report and whether he has experienced any such interference, Hughton told NottinghamshireLive: “I haven’t seen anything (of the report) so far.

Loanee flying

Nottingham Forest's Nuno Da Costa has given the Reds a reminder of his talent by making headlines in Belgium with his performances for Royal Excel Mouscron.

The striker was shipped out on loan to Mouscron after finding it hard to make the breakthrough at the City Ground following his switch to the Reds last January.

Da Costa made just four starts in the second half of last season which saw him fail to find the target, although he did create a goal in the 1-1 draw against Preston North End.

But since moving to Mouscron, Da Costa has enjoyed a fine run of form which has led to two goals in five games, with his latest coming in a 3-2 win over Sint-Truiden.
