'Mixed emotions' after Nottingham Forest win as Chris Wilder makes Reds manager admission

Interim boss Steven Reid admitted to mixed emotions as Nottingham Forest claimed their first league win of the season.

Reid was in the dugout as the Reds toppled Huddersfield Town 2-0 in their first match since Chris Hughton was axed as manager.

Former Swansea City chief Steve Cooper is Forest's top target to take the job on a permanent basis, with Reid unsure how long he will be at the helm for.

Having been brought to the club by Hughton, and been close to his old colleague, victory against the Terriers came with a hint of “sadness” for Reid, at the end of a difficult week.

Fans' reaction

Nottingham Forest fans were deliriously happy with their club's first win of the season after beating Huddersfield Town 2-0.

The relief of the supporters was clear, with one commenting, "About time lads, well played", while another said, "Oh man, we needed that! Great win, boys!"

Fans were also pleased that what they regarded as the dour football served up by Hughton was also no longer on display as Forest attempt to fight their way out of trouble at the foot of the table.

Wilder, out of work since leaving the Blades just before the end of the last campaign, was linked with the job at the City Ground following Chris Hughton’s sacking this week.

However, former Swansea boss Steve Cooper looks set to take the reins.

Wilder was a favourite among Reds fans for the job and on Saturday he expressed his respect for the club and their history.
