Everyone has a Sigma story.
So says Steve from Wangi, who acquired this beauty a few weeks ago for $1800 from a seller in western Sydney.
"Old guy had to hand his licence in. He bought it new in late '84 from McGrath Mitsubishi in Liverpool," Steve said.
"Remi [Steve's dog] loves it - can't get him out half the time."
Steve has officially named her "Sally the Sigma".
As Steve puts it, the body of the old Sigma station wagon is "a bit rough", but it's still original and mechanically fine with 384,000 kilometres on the clock.
"No power steering, but drives great," Steve added.
Since he's been cruising around in his retro mobile - including a trip to Catho beach for a surf - Steve has learned that many people fondly remember the old-school Sigma.
He's heard stories about his mother-in-law having a top-of-the-range full-leather wagon, to a mate's father in-law's Peter Wherrett Special, to another mate remembering his mum's Sigma as the local taxi.
We can relate. We once knew a bloke who's parents had a beige Sigma station wagon in the early 1990s. They might be cool now [Sigmas, not his parents], but back then this bloke's mates weren't overly impressed. Perhaps it was the beige colour?

Bronze for Johns
The push for a bronze statue of Andrew Johns outside McDonald Jones Stadium has gained support from the man himself.
Mind you, we should add, it is a humble form of support. Joey isn't beating his own drum or anything like that.
This picture shows the "eighth immortal" with Karlo Tychsen, a Knights fan leading the campaign that's been dubbed "Bronze for Johns".
Karlo met Johns at the Legends of League tournament at the Broadmeadow-based stadium on Saturday.
Karlo gained the support of other league legends and posted their comments in a video on the Facebook page of the Andrew Johns Statue Supporters Group.
Among those to back the campaign were Kurt Gidley, Danny Buderus, Robbie O'Davis, Mark Hughes, Willie Mason, Wendell Sailor, Nathan Hindmarsh and Chris Houston.
Johns was also in attendance.
"I told him we're doing this legitimately, we're not being silly," Karlo said.
Johns gave the plan the thumbs up.
Karlo urged people to back the statue plan on the change.org petition or through the GoFundMe page, titled "Build an Andrew Johns Statue in Newcastle".
"We don't just want to be just a Facebook page, we're an active supporters group that wants to make this happen," he said.
"We really want people to put their name and dollars to this."
