
A woman and child have been rushed to a major trauma centre after being found injured in a south London home.
Police and paramedics, including an air ambulance, were called to Monarch Parade in Mitcham at around 4pm on Tuesday.
Met Police has not yet given information on their conditions. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called to an address on Monarch Parade in Mitcham at 4pm on Tuesday to a report of two people injured.
"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a woman and a child were inside a property suffering injuries. Condition awaits.
"Officers remain on scene. No arrests; enquiries into the incident continue."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called today at 3.51pm to reports of an incident off London Road, Mitcham.
"We dispatched a number of resources including an advanced paramedic, ambulance crews and an incident response officer.
"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance, with the first of our medics arriving within four minutes.
"We treated two patients at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
The spokesperson declined to clarify the nature of the incident further. Met Police said further details would be released later on Tuesday.
