Quarterback Mitch Trubisky will play at Soldier Field in 2021 after all.

Maybe he’ll even start.

The Bills — with whom Trubisky signed a one-year, $2 million contract in March — will be the Bears’ second preseason opponent, the NFL announced Wednesday. The Bears will host the Bills at noon on Aug. 21.

They’ll open the preseason at home, too, and face the Dolphins at noon Aug. 14. They’ll end the preseason slate Aug. 28 at 6 p.m at the Titans.

The NFL is playing three preseason games, down from four, for the first time this season, The Bears will host two games because they have to play an extra road game as part of the NFL’s expansion to 17 regular-season games.

Trubisky will serve as Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen’s backup in Buffalo this season. He left via free agency after the Bears declined to pick up his fifth-year option for 2021.
