Mitch Rose relishing Notts County responsibility as he insists 'I am not a young pro anymore'

Mitch Rose says he is thriving on being treated as a senior player at Notts County and feels it is one of the most enjoyable starts to a season  “in a very long time”.

The former Grimsby midfielder has become a key figure inside the dressing room since he arrived from the Mariners last January having cemented his place in midfield.

Rose was excellent in the second half of Notts' 1-1 draw with Sutton last weekend and has become one of Neal Ardley’s first names on the team sheet.

And the 25-year-old says being given extra responsibility has helped him enormously and admits he is relishing his time at Meadow Lane.

“I was speaking to one of the boys recently and I said that it was one of the most enjoyable starts to the season in a very long time in terms of my performances, the dressing room and how settled I am,” he said.

“I am not a young pro anymore.

“I am being treated as a more senior player which is helping. It’s giving me more responsibility.

“I am really enjoying my time here. We’ve got a very good group of boys, and those we’ve brought in have settled in really well.”
