Mistral Lift god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

In the festive spirit of the Dawning, Destiny 2 brought back the Mistral Lift linear fusion rifle, one of the best linears in the game. Even if linear fusion rifles aren’t in the meta, it’s good to have one of these in case they get a buff.

Mistral Lift is an Adaptive Burst (three-burst) Void Linear Fusion Rifle you can pick up during the Dawning event. This rifle comes packed with some of the best DPS perks as well as a few neutral game options if you need any.

Here are our Mistral Lift god rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

Mistral Lift PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Enhanced Battery
  • Perk one: Envious Arsenal
  • Perk two: Bait and Switch
  • Masterwork: Charge Time or Range

Mistral Lift PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Projection Fuse
  • Perk one: No Distractions
  • Perk two: Precision Instrument
  • Masterwork: Charge Time or Range

The DPS god roll on Mistral Lift remained the same as last year, and that’s Envious Arsenal with Bait and Switch. Envious Arsenal reloads the weapon when you deal damage with both of your other weapons, and Bait and Switch grants a 30 percent damage increase for 10 seconds when you need to deal damage with all three weapons within a short period of time.

There are a few other perks that might be worth having as alternatives on your Tier 5 roll. Those include Reconstruction to replenish ammo when the weapon is stowed, Precision Instrument to increase precision damage, Withering Gaze to weaken targets, and Rewind Rounds to refill the mag based on the number of hits landed. All of them are solid perks, and while they aren’t as good as Envious Arsenal with Bait and Switch, you never know what you may need.

For neutral gameplay, Mistral Lift has a fun combination of Firefly and Butterfly. Firefly causes targets to explode on precision kills, while Butterfly makes targets explode on regular kills after aiming down sights for a short duration (similarly to Box Breathing). You can also go for Dragonfly instead of Butterfly to create even more explosions on precision kills.

Linear Fusion Rifles aren’t worth using in PvP, and Mistral Lift is no exception. Mistral Lift can roll with No Distractions and Precision Instrument if you want to mess around with it. Other than that, a machine gun (like Hammerhead) or a grenade launcher is a much better option inside Crucible or Trials of Osiris.

Mistral Lift is a Dawning weapon in Destiny 2 and is available only during the event. You can get a copy by completing Portal activities with the Distorted Dawning Engram as a bonus reward. While you’re at it, collect the Dawning Essence to bake and deliver gifts all across the system.

Delivering gifts can grant you A Gift In Return that you can open to get a random event weapon. Alongside return gifts, delivering treats also awards Dawning Spirit, which you can use to purchase additional drops from Eva.
