Mistake by Sabri? - Nottingham Forest fans debate transfer decision as defender linked with Championship rivals

Former Nottingham Forest defender Alexander Milosevic is said to be attracting interest from fellow Championship side Hull City.

But it seems many Reds fans wish he had never departed the City Ground.

Milosevic left the club by mutual consent last October, having only made the switch eight months earlier, in February 2019.

He had signed an 18-month deal from AIK Solna and made a decent start to his time in the Garibaldi.

The Swedish centre-back made 12 appearances in total last season, scoring one goal, but he was out of favour under Sabri Lamouchi and fell down the pecking order.

After his exit, reports suggested a number of clubs were keen on his signature, including QPR.

He remains a free agent, though is said to have been training with AIK back in his homeland to maintain his fitness.

Swedish media outlet Fotboll Direkt say a return to England could now be on the cards, claiming the Tigers are showing ‘concrete interest’.

And Forest fans have had their say on Milosevic potentially lining up for a Championship rival.

Here’s what they have been saying on our Facebook page.

Rob Daykin: “He would be a great signing for pretty much any Championship club.”

Tom Bruce: “We should have kept him, looked a decent player.”

Robert Norton: “I was surprised we let him go. Can't see Sabri changing his mind though.”

Alan Thorpe: “Great player.”

Andrew Shaw: “Should still be with us! And got rid of Hefele.”

Dominic Marvell: “Never seemed to do anything wrong....”

Nathan Davis: “Too good for Hull.”

Antony Sissons: “I rated him, to be fair. Thought he was unlucky not to be much higher up the pecking order.”

James Ford: “One of the few mistakes Sabri made imo. Looked really good when he played.”
