Jan. 26--Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk was suspended for the third time in four months Monday, shortly after a video purportedly showing him snorting a white substance surfaced on social media.
Athletic Director Mack Rhoades and Coach Barry Odom released a joint statement on the matter less than two hours after the video was posted:

"We are currently gathering information regarding the video in question. This is an issue we take very seriously and one that will not be tolerated within our program. We will take the appropriate actions once we have all the facts. In the interim, Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended for the Mizzou football program."
The nine-second video features someone who resembles Mauk and is identified as the rising fifth-year senior quarterback in the caption.
Mauk played 28 games in three seasons with the Tigers, completing 52.7% of his passes for 4,373 yards with 42 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. But his season ended early in 2015, as he was suspended once in September for an undisclosed violation of team policy and again in November for unspecified disciplinary reasons. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the second suspension occurred after "was spotted having a dispute outside a downtown Columbia bar."

After reinstating Mauk in December, Odom indicated that the quarterback would have an opportunity to compete for the starting job in the spring.
