Dorsey was sentenced to death for the killings of his cousin and her husband in central Missouri in 2006. The execution proceeded after the U.S. Supreme Court denied two appeals on Dorsey's behalf.
The tragic incident occurred two days before Christmas in 2006 when Dorsey killed his cousin and her husband, leaving their 4-year-old daughter alone in the home. He was scheduled to be executed by injection of a single dose of the sedative pentobarbital at the state prison in Bonne Terre.
Prosecutors revealed that Dorsey had called his cousin seeking money to pay off drug dealers earlier that day. He later went to their home, took a shotgun from the garage, and fatally shot both victims before committing further heinous acts.
Following the killings, the victims' daughter was found by her grandparents, who discovered the tragic scene. Dorsey surrendered to police three days after the incident.
