DALLAS _ Morgan William made the most controversial call in the NCAA women's tournament moot.
In the process, the 5-5 Mississippi State guard become part of history, knocking down a 15-foot jumper as time expired in overtime to end UConn's 111-game winning streak, 66-64 in the Final Four. Just before, Mississippi State's Dominique Dillingham had been called for a flagrant foul on replay review against UConn's Katie Lou Samuelson. Samuelson hit both free throws but UConn couldn't convert on the ensuing position.
Barely more than one calendar year ago, UConn had beaten Mississippi State in the Sweet 16 98-38.
William finished with 13 points for Mississippi State.
Gabby Williams led UConn with 21 points and eight rebounds.
