Missing young man from Dumfries believed to be sleeping rough in Glasgow city centre

Police searching for a missing man from Dumfries believe he travelled to Glasgow and could be sleeping rough or using homeless accommodation here.

James Lambie, 20, hasn’t been seen since Wednesday, September 30 in the Whitesands area of Dumfries.

Officers believe he has travelled to Glasgow city centre since.

Inspector Claire Walker said: "James has not been seen for several weeks and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. We believe he may have travelled to the Glasgow city centre area and could be seeking homeless accommodation or sleeping rough."

James is around 5ft8 in height, of medium build and has short brown hair. It is not known what clothing he’s wearing.

Anyone who has seen him, been in contact with James or who has info on his whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 1883 of 13 October.

UPDATE: James Lambie has been found safe and well, Police Scotland confirmed on Tuesday (October 20).

A spokesperson said: "We are pleased to confirm that James Lambie (20) who was reported missing from Dumfries has been traced safe and well. The public and media are thanked for their assistance."
