A heartbreaking tribute has been left amongst a mounting number of flowers at the scene where a 15-year-old cyclist was killed in a sickening hit and run.
The poignant outpouring of grief for the Wirral teenager, named locally as Jack, comes as two suspects arrested over his death remained in custody this morning.
Manor Drive in Upton was closed in both directions by emergency services on Monday, after a crash involving a car and bicycle which is being treated as a hit and run.
Merseyside Police said the driver of the car, described as a silver SUV, failed to stop at the scene.
The cyclist, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
The teenager's death has shocked Merseyside.
And today today a wall and tree on the pavement of the road where Jack was killed was a sea of colour as people continue to lay flowers and tributes.
One heartbreaking note attached to a bunch of flowers sums up the emotion.

It simply says: ""RIP Jack. Love and missing you. See you soon, Will."
A 22-year-old man from Wirral and a 48-year-old man from Birkenhead, were yesterday arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said today: "The two arrested are still in custody."

One resident told how she rushed to help after hearing the crash from her home nearby, she said: "I wanted to be able to do something to make him more comfortable, bring him a pillow or a blanket or something, but I just felt so helpless.
"I have two grandsons that age and all I could think about were his parents.
"He was such a young lad, his whole life ahead of him. It has really affected me."
