A teenage mum and her 10-month-old baby boy who sparked an urgent police hunt after going missing have been traced.
Maisey Roberts, 19, and her son Leighton Jones, were last seen at around 5pm on Tuesday, on Hawthorne Road in Litherland, close to a Tesco supermarket and found themselves at the centre of an urgent police appeal.
Maisey had been seen pushing the child in an old fashioned pram at the time of their disappearance.
But now police have confirmed the good news that both mum and child have been found.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that Maisy Roberts and her young son Leighton from Litherland have been found safe and well.
"Thank you to all the public and the media for sharing our appeal."
Launching the urgent appeal to find her police said her concerned family were "very worried about her."
Maisey, who lives in Litherland , has not gone missing before and her disappearance was described as "out of character."
Maisey picked up her son from her grandparents' home on Tuesday evening, but then vanished.
Police had stressed they were "concerned Maisey and her son are away from that stable family environment where they need to be" and had urged the public to get in touch should they spot them.
Details of where they were traced has not been disclosed.
