Missing teen could be wandering the streets of Liverpool on New Year's Eve

A missing teenage girl could be wandering the streets of Liverpool on New Year's Eve if she is not found.

Jodie Bettany is believed to have travelled to the city either last night or today and was reported missing at around 9am on Thursday morning.

Concern for the 16-year-old, who is from Lincolnshire, is growing after her parents found her room empty and called police.

Now officers in Liverpool are also appealing for him in finding her over worries the child could be left in Merseyside over New Year.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "We are issuing an extremely urgent appeal to find missing teenager Jodie Bettany.

"Jodie is 16. and was last seen in Ingoldmells in her room last night and reported missing at 9.15 this morning after her room was found empty.

"Jodie may have travelled to the Merseyside area, either last night or today, but is possibly still in the county or elsewhere."

Jodie is described as having long dark blonde hair,petite build, and around 5ft tall.

She is believed to have been wearing a black bomber coat with a fur hood when she left home.
