Missing schoolboy from London sparks huge police search in Paisley

A missing schoolboy has sparked a huge police search in Renfrewshire.

Joasiah Bamidele was last seen at around 5.45pm on Thursday in the Shotroods area of Paisley.

The 14-year-old is originally from London and speaks with an English accent.

Joasiah is described as five foot, seven inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing a grey puffer jacket and grey jogging bottoms.

The teen was travelling on an electric scooter.

Officers searching for Joasiah stressed that he is not familiar with the Paisley and Glasgow areas.

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

A Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police Division spokesperson said: Police in Paisley are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing 14-year-old Joasiah Bamidele, missing from the Paisley area since Thursday, May 6.

"Joasiah is originally from London and speaks with an English accent.

"He was last seen in the Shortroods area of Paisley at around 5.45pm on Thursday, May 6.

"Josiah is not familiar with the Paisley or Glasgow area, we just want to make sure he is safe and well and would encourage him, or anyone who knows where he is, to get in touch with officers at Paisley Police station via 101.

"Please quote incident number 2489 of May 6."
