Missing schoolboy, 14, found dead in woods and police say death is 'unexplained'

A 14-year-old boy who was last seen wearing his school uniform after getting of a bus in south London has been found dead in a wood.

Teenager Jamie Daniel has been seen at roughly 4pm on Wednesday getting off a bus from Eltham, before being reported missing when he didn't return home.

The following day police were called to a wood in the Sidcup area after receiving calls about an "unresponsive male".

Officers were dispatched and found a teenager at the location, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boys' next of kin were informed and the teen has been formally identified as 14-year-old Jamie Daniel.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained and police have launched an investigation.

"The male has been formally identified as 14-year-old Jamie Daniel, who had been reported missing from Bexley.
